Connections Updates-May 2017
It’s hard to believe that the end of the school year is already here. Wasn’t it just August? It was a busy year at Connections Tutoring, and we’re grateful for each and every family that chose to partner with us. Just because school is ending doesn’t mean we’re taking a break for the summer. There’s a lot to be excited about in the coming months.
First, we’re excited to announce that our Communications Coordinator, Kelly Thakkar, has taken a big professional step that will allow her to be more involved in Connections while also pursuing additional career opportunities. Kelly is a master at developing systems for organization, and she does a thorough job of making sure Connections runs smoothly. We’ve always had to share her with her full-time job at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, but she recently decided to resign from Children’s to focus on Connections and other career goals. We are so fortunate to have her on our team.
Also, we believe that learning doesn’t have to stop just because schools close for the summer, and it looks like many of you feel the same way. Tutor schedules are filling quickly, if you are thinking of using a tutor over the summer, please contact me soon to make sure we have someone available. Keep in mind that people use tutors during the summer months for many reasons. Some families want to help their kids get caught up in difficult subject areas, and others want to help them get ahead in anticipation of a challenging course. Whether you are looking for remediation, maintenance, or extension, we’d love to partner with you.
In addition to traditional tutoring, we also offer a number of summer camps. These camps cover a variety of topics, from test prep to study skills and STEM activities. A number of the camps are held through Cincinnati Country Day School, but we have several independent options as well. All camps are open to students from any school. If you’re interested, please contact us to learn more.
Another important summer activity is planning for the coming year. With that in mind, I’d like to ask all our parents to fill out a survey that will help us make sure we continue to provide our clients with superb tutoring services. Please follow this link to fill out the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/connectionsclients. Thank you so much for taking the time to help us provide the highest quality of support for our students and families.
Finally, I want to give a special shout-out to this year’s graduating seniors. This class was the last group that I taught in the classroom, and it was their interest and support as I transitioned out of the classroom that helped me launch Connections Tutoring. Because of them, I’ve followed this amazing path to being a small business owner while helping students find success in the classroom. It’s been an amazing journey, and it’s a little bittersweet for me to see this group of young adults spread their wings. I’m so proud of them, and so grateful for the work we get to do at Connections.
Thank you all for choosing to partner with us. It is a privilege to serve your families!
